Maddox Jolie (or is it Jolie-Pitt now?) has nothing on Jules

Her hair is very light, so it doesn’t show up as well as it could - but this is how it always looks. It is actually getting cuter, as the sides are now getting long enough to stick out, while the middle section in the front is getting long enough to lie down flat. I think I’ll be dissapointed when her hair starts behaving.

She inherited this hair from Sam - who is so devoted to his VO5 hair cream that I tease him about being like George Clooney’s character in “O Brother Where Art Thou”…looks like Julianna will eventually need to find herself a tin of Dapper Dan Pomade.

  2. She’ll start a new trend is all. Good things he’s so stunning. Sam (my Sam) has the worst hair. Pin straight, coarse as can be and an all over cowlick. He will never, ever be able to do anything but a buzz. I comfort myself that at least he’s a boy. I bet when Jules’s hair gets longer it’ll lay flat nicely:)

  4. That is too cute. Andrew has gone through a few hair stages where he’s always had a faux-hawk. Now he gets the Alfalfa-sprout thing at the crown where he has a major swirl pattern. I try to let it grow out a bit and it just ends up getting coarse and SOS-pad-like so I keep cutting it short. Maybe I should try Sam’s gel idea?

Where did she get that fair hair?? Did you or Sam start out with lighter hair as kids? She really does look so much like her daddy.

  5. Jeanette, she is SO.SWEET. SO. BEAUTIFUL. SO. ADORABLE!

My brother had hair exactly like that as a baby, and now he too needs some serious pomade/vo5…due to it now being very curly/coarse now (totally different end of the spectrum than it was when he was a babe). is that how sam’s is, or is his still as static as jules’ is now?

  6. She is so gorgeous. Hey, I love the new look. I don’t get to see everyone’s blog designs since I read mostly through Bloglines. Means I should probably comment more often, huh? :)

  8. Jeanette, Could she be any cuter??? With that juicy upper lip and those steamy, intense eyes? That girl is going to have the world eating out of the palm of her hand. And again, another beautiful photograph. I’ve been thinking that a “full service” doula could add birth photography to her role - and charge more for it. (This is related to the previous post as well.) If limiting participants at birth is important, which I think to many families it is, then someone to be a doula AND capture the moment would be priceless. I worked with Lori Dorman in LA on the hypnobirthing when pregnant with Satchel and she had a mixed-service approach that was really booming as a business. She started as a doula, then added photography, then added hypnosis and a whole birthing center which she just sold. Now, after many years, she does photography only - and maybe is a doula occassionally. You could definitely head in that direction. Your work is truly gifted. You’ve got an artistic eye and you can capture spirit, soul - that’s not easy to do. It takes a special talent. And lots and lots of work, which you have also done. If I had to choose between a great doula, and a great doula who could photograph the event, guess who I’d hire? And I’d happily pay more. Just a thought that birth photography could be a way to get your feet wet as a professional - since you are almost there.
